Windows 10: Error while attempting to install VCRedist 2005 and 2008

When i try and install vcredist 2005 or 2008 and get to the part where it shows you the current progress the green bar it progresses a little bit untill it shows me this error"Error 1935. An error occurred during the installation of assembly 'Microsoft.VC90.ATL, version="9.0.30729.6161", publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b 9a1e18e3b", processorArchitecture="x86",type="win32". Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x800736FD."how can i fix this? i need to install it for a program i want to use

Vcredist 2005 install errors on win 10

so i tried installing it, it is a dependency for a videogame that i enjoy - it throws you an error that looks like this: http://smallfetuses.com/screenshots/2016-02-12_16-09-07.png

I had an identical issue with 2008 which i solved after a while - basically when it installs it copies itself to (for some reason) E drive (i have 3 hdd's so it chose E for some reason),before clicking OK on the error you can copy the files over to a separate
folder - i did that, discovered theres a file called "install.ini" - you can edit that, particularly a line that says "supportwin9x=0" - if you change 0 to 1, it will then allow for installation on win 10.

I tried doing that with vcredist 2005, Except it does not install itself in a similar fashion, it is merely a .cab file which contents are useless as well as a vcredist.msi which also contains useless things (as far as editing them goes at least)

So i cant really install it and kinda need to

i'm running win 10 LTS build 10240, and obviously i've already tried "simple" things like compatibility modes and so on. what i need is to get it running on a version of windows that it doesnt support

 

Error 1935 when installing Microsoft VC redist 2005 and 2008

So I tried to install the x64 versions of what you sent for 2005 and 2008 but the error 1935 prevails. Is this supposed to happen? Also I looked at the troubleshooting and It didnt help.

I recently purchased a game called boderlands 2 and when I tried to open it, it immediately closed and I can't play the game. So I took to the forums and was told to install the Microsft VC redists that were listed in the games files. When attempting to
install the 2005 and 2008 packs I got error 1935 and some text afterwards I couldn't understand. Can I get some help with this error? Also I have looked at other threads about this but it seems none have helped(and some seem quite outdated). If anyone has
the answer it would be deeply appreciated, I have been trying to get this game to work for about a week now. One more thing, for an unknown reason I can't install some updates and I can't wipe my computer, it just won't let me. Thanks in advance.
