Windows 10: Error while trying to run a command "Dism /online /get-packages" in admin PowerShell

Hello there,I am heaving troubles to install last cumulative update 2024-09 KB5043076.I have tried to install it with Windows Update - but I get an error Error while downloading 0x80004002.I have tried to manually download it from Windows catalog but again it is not possible due the error "the update is not applicable to". I downloaded the correct one "2024-09 Cumulative Update for Windows 11 Version 23H2 for arm64-based Systems KB5043076" - as I am running Win 11 Pro on Intel i7-10700 version 23H2.After searching the internet I have found I should run these set of commandsism /online

Running Powershell as admin

Hi. I tried this and everything was denied. Did not reboot to try it yet, but is this normal?

I already did all the other suggested fixes - ran disc services, powershell and command promp in admin mode and ran the suggested fixes, but nothing works for me. I'll re-boot and try again, then read the rest of this thread.

 

Error on running PowerShell commands

I suggest you to try running the Windows PowerShell as an Admin and check if the issue persists. Right click on the launch file and select
Run as Administrator to check if it helps.

Commands do not run in command prompt Admin.

When you run a command in Command Prompt, do you get an error, does the command just sit there, or does the command start to run but never complete?

Try running the same command in Powershell and see if it completes:

Right click your Start Button, choose Powershell (admin)

Run the same command in Powershell, but precede it with cmd.exe

For example:

ipconfig /flushdns

becomes

cmd.exe ipconfig /flushdns
