    Hi there, I am using .NET upgrade-assistant tool with the following command: upgrade-assistant.exe analyze C:\UploadedFiles\AMSWebapi\AssetManagementStoreApp.csproj --targetFramework net8.0 -r analysis-report --serializer html --privacyMode Unrestricted --non-interactive and getting the following error:System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. at Microsoft.UpgradeAssistant.StringExtensions.EnsureTrailingCharString s, Char ch in D:\a\_work\1\s\src\engine\Extensions\StringExtensions.cs:line 244 at Microsoft.UpgradeAssistant.StringExtensions.Ensu

  2. Windows 10 upgrade assistant stuck at 99%

    The problem is caused by the Windows 7 updates.

    Before using the Windows 10 Upgrade Assistant, perform these steps:

    • set Windows 7 updates to "Never install updates".
    • Stop the update service by right clicking on the command prompt, and choose "Run as administrator".
    • Type

      It should say: "Windows update service is stopping....windows update service is stopped."

    • How exactly are you trying to install .Net framework?

    This issue might have occurred due to corrupted/ missing system files. Try the below and check if it helps.

    Step 1: Run SFC scan.

    System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files.

    Follow the below steps:


    • Right click on the Start button, click on
      Command Prompt (Admin).

    • Type “sfc /scannow” without the quotes and hit
      Enter.

    • After the scan, restart the computer and check for the issue.

    Step 2: I suggest you to run DISM or System Update Readiness tool and check if it helps.

    The DISM or System Update Readiness tool may help you to fix some Windows corruption errors.

    Welcome to Microsoft Community and thank you for your interest in Windows 10.

    I suggest you to follow the below steps to check whether the .NET Framework 3.5 has been installed or not.

    • Press Windows+X and then select programs and features.
    • On the left hand side click on the option “turn windows features on or off”.
    • Check whether the “.NET Framework 3.5” has been checked or not.
    • If not check then I suggest you to check it and then install it.
