Windows 10: "error writing to the temporary location"

Hi, I have windows 10 pro 22h2 and I have downloaded application running java environment and its files but when I click app it occurs "error writing to the temporary location" by the way, I saw "error writing temporary file. Make sure your temp folder is valid". my friends have downloaded it for yourself too and it ran for them without problems. Pls help me, have a good life

Temporary files or cache could be stored in multiple locations. I would suggest you to unhide the files and see if it helps. Refer to the article

Show hidden files for the same.

If the space is still being used, I would suggest you to try the methods listed in the following articles and see if it helps:

• Low Disk Space error due to a full Temp folder

Issue with temporary files

Hi Junaid,

I unhide the files as per the article "Show hidden files" but it does not help to see what takes up to 29GB in my temporary files (settings/system/storage/temporary files).

The other two methods you mentioned have already been tried without success.

How To Format A Write Protected Flash Memory ?

Run CMD


1. diskpart
2. list disk

Then in the 3º step, put the correct number of disk in the list for the usb flash (if it's listed in disk 3, then you'll have to write select disk 3).

2. select disk #
3. clean
4. create partition primary
5. select partition 1
6. active
7. format fs=fat32
8. assign
9. exit

with that commands you will format the flash drive in fat32, if you have a large drive you can select also "format fs=ntfs" in step 7.
