Esim on Windows 10 Devices

Hi All,

Is anyone able to provide a current list of Windows 10 devices in Australia that work with Esim?

I know the Surface Pro X & older Pro LTE do support Esim but it seems very confusing on what will and wont support it.

I have a need for Esim due to remote working however the Pro X runs the mobile processor so no good and the only other models are the old HP Envy devices.

I purchased a Acer Swift 3 due to this

I am sure a combination of certain hardware/software/firmware will dictate if it can support Esim or not however I can not find any info that will solve the riddle. This isn't super helpful considering it doesn't allow you to know before you purchase the device.

Can anyone solve the Esim riddle on why its so hard to get accurate info and as an example why a 4 year old Surface Pro LTE can work with Esim but a new 5k HP device running a cellular modem that says it can support Esim cant?

thanks for the reply.

I actually don't have eSIM on my laptop, but I am supposed to write a code that will be tested on another machine that does have eSIM.

I am not sure if I can use Windows.Networking.NetworkOperators namespace if I don't have eSIM physically on my machine.

What I need to do is to:

1. Discover profiles installed on the machine and show them on UI. Currently, I am mocking these.

Eventually, I should be able to activate a profile from the list via my page.

2. I have information about eSIM profile (provided with some API), and I need to install the profile.

3. I need to be able to delete some of the installed profiles.

Now, to be able to do the above, I need to have some kind of ESim object, which I am not sure where to get from.

Again, I am doing all this in the dark, because I don't have eSIM physically, but I am providing detailed log functionality to be able to keep track of what is going on on an actual eSIM machine.

I hope this helps with finding possible solutions for me.
