Windows 10: ETD.sys and memory management

So basically I got a new hard drive for my laptop and installed windows 10 after the installation everything looked fine until i restarted my pc... it wouldn't turn on I would get blue screens with two errors either memory management or ETD.sys I looked online on how to fix it but nothing helped and so I'm here.

ETD Control Center Helper

Hi Sarah,

Boot into Safe Mode and turn off this annoyance, which is caused by the Elan Tech Touchpad software:

Start your PC, just as Windows attempts to load (spinning dots), press and hold Power Button for 5 - 10 seconds to perform a Hard Shut Down

Do this twice

On the third start Windows will boot into the Recovery Environment and from there you can access System Repair, Safe Mode, Command Prompt . . . etc.

Please try each option one at a time, then see of Windows will boot . . .

Go to Troubleshoot - Advanced Option - Startup Settings and click Restart

Upon restart, press 4 to enter Safe Mode

Once in Safe Mode,, see if you can remove it from Windows Startup, or uninstall it altogether:

Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open Task Manager

Click on the Startup Tab

See if ETD Control Center is listed there

If it is, select it and click 'Disable'

Close Task Manager

Click your Start Button, type msconfig and hit Enter

When the System Configuration dialog opens, click on the Services Tab

Check the box marked 'Hide Microsoft Services'

In the remaining list see if ETD Control Center is listed there , uncheck any you find

Click Apply and OK

Restart your System and this annoyance will be gone . . .

Otherwise remove the Elantech software altogether from Control Panel - Programs and Features

 

ETD Control Center and CPU Resouces

ETD Control Center is the device manager for the trackpad on my Lenovo Yoga ThinkPad 14. After installing the Creators Update the ETD Control Center will use about 30% of CPU resources. This happens every other day but when it does a simple restart brings
the computer back to normal.

I am looking to see if anyone else has this problem or maybe has a solution to this problem.

 

BSOD- memory management

Upon checking the dump file, the issue is being caused by ntoskrnl.exe. Ntoskrnl.exe is the one responsible for memory management that is why you're having the Memory Management error. We suggest that you follow the steps found in the link that we provided
in our last reply to resolve the issue. Please take note that if you're overclocking your processor or video card, kindly reset their settings to default.

Let us know the outcome after performing the provided steps.
