Windows 10: Ethernet Adapter disabling on Windows 11 while starting online game and/or using Steam Link

My ethernet adapter on my desktop computer is disabling every time that I attempt to start an online game and putting my system into a bad state. The issue began in between February 21st to February 26th. Ethernet Adapter disabling on Windows 11 while starting online game and/or using Steam Link

My ethernet adapter on my desktop computer is disabling every time that I attempt to start an online game and putting my system into a bad state. The issue began in between February 21st to February 26th. My system is:

OS: Windows 11 Pro, 10.0.22621 Build 22621

Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX B550-A GAMING

Processor: AMD Ryzen 9 5950X

RAM: 64GB

Ethernet Adapter: Intel(R) Ethernet Controller (3) I225-V

Ethernet Adapter Driver: Intel, 1.1.3.28, 3/5/2023

Desktop/Steam Link:

My system is a desktop computer that is only connected to my network via an ethernet adapter. I have plugged in a Wifi adapter and am able to connect, but I would like to only have this computer connected via ethernet for a stable connection. Additionally, I have been using a Steam Link for the past month to connect to my desktop via Powerline Ethernet which has been working great until now. Now, I can connect to my computer from the Steam Link and start a game, but as soon as a game begins to load the Steam Link loses connection and my computer ethernet adapter is disabled. When the ethernet adapter is working, I am able to browse, watch videos, do video calls and play offline games just fine.

Drivers:

Including the above driver, I have attempted to install 2 other drivers from roughly September 2022 and June 2021 but continue to have the same disabling issue. I also attempted to disable the Power Management setting within the Device Manager for that ethernet adapter but that has not worked either.

Router:

I purchased a new router roughly around the time the issues started taking place and have attempted to troubleshoot this as well. I can verify on other devices that my connections are working just fine, and I have switched between my old router and new router to make sure that all networking still functions as normal on all other devices. I have 2 servers that are connected via a switch to a single ethernet port on my router, and they are functioning just fine.

Old Router: Verizon Fios Default Router

New Router: ASUS ROG GT-AX6000

Additional Information:

I have attempted to do a repair install of Windows 11 that has had no success in fixing the problem. Primary games that I get immediately dropped from are Destiny 2 and Apex Legends. Additionally to note, whenever I have this issue I am unable to simply disable/enable or uninstall/reinstall the network device, and when I attempt to restart my computer hangs. This has been forcing me to do a hard reboot on the desktop, which then boots up normally with the ethernet adapter back to normal.

 

IP configuration not valid - interference from ethernet adapter?

Solution 1: No Internet Access In Windows 8.1or Windows 10

Step 1:

Go to Device Manager → Network adapters.
Step 2:

Expand it (Network adapters).


Step 3:

Select your network adapter


Step 4:

Right click on your wireless network adapter or Ethernet adapter and then tap “Update Driver Software”.
(in this case your network adopter is Ethernet adopter so tap your Ethernet adapter)
Step 5:

Now on a new window you will need to click on “Browse my computer for driver software”.




Step 6:

Then select “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer”.



Step 7:

Now choose the “Manufacturer’s drivers” from the list of two and then click next.



Step 8:

After the completion of the process just restart your PC and check if the problem is solved or not. If not, goto solution 2.



Solution 2: No Internet Access In Windows 8.1,windows10

Step 1:

Open command prompt.
Step 2:

Just go on hitting the enter after typing the each command.
netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disable
netsh int tcp set global rss=enabled
Step 3:

Now to check if the settings are disabled type:
netsh int tcp show global
then hit enter.
Step 4:

Now the thing left is just rebooting your system and just check if the problem is solved or not and just give feedback.*chuckle*Thumbs

 

are all steam games available on windows 11

okay so I am two steps away from upgrading to Windows 11 and I just want to make sure that all steam games run on windows 11. so is it a good idea to play steam games in windows 11 or should I wait for a few more weeks/months?
