Ethernet cable unplugged error on new gaming pc

    Hello,

I have just completed a new build and everything was going smooth until I got the error "Network cable unplugged" for the Ethernet connection.

I have tried just about every possible solution updating bios, drivers, switching ethernet cables, resetting network adapter, dumping files from cmd, etc.

The only thing that has worked somewhat, is changing speed and duplex from the device manager/network adapter/advanced settings from auto negotiation to 10 mbps half duplex, however this is not a permanent fix because when I restart or after a shutdown I have to change this setting to either 10 mbps full or 10 mbps half depending on where it was set at the time the computer shuts down.

here is some additional system information in case somebody has run into the same issue with this components.

    Motherboard: ROG STRIX Z490-E GAMING

    CPU: Intel I7 10700k comet

GPU: Evga 2700 super XC ultra

    windows 10 pro.

    :)

    "Ethernet Cable Unplugged"

    Good day,

I keep on getting a notice that my Ethernet Cable is unplugged. I have an Acer laptop and there are no loose cables that I use. This happens when I use public wifi.

Please help urgently! This is extremely frustrating because it prevents me from connecting to free wifi services.

    These are the details:

    Manufacturer: Realtek

Description: Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller

    Driver version: 10.1.505.2015

    Thank you!

"Network cable unplugged" - but it is plugged in..

Hoping some of the Windows ninjas can help.

Running Windows 10 Pro on a Dell XPS 8500 desktop/tower. Hard wired Ethernet from Dlink router to PC.

Had been working great for months. But all of a sudden (yesterday) - getting this message from "Net Connections." Ethernet, network cable unplugged (Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller). It's strange because it had been working. The PC has WIFI so it's connecting that way.

Here's what I tried so far:

    1. Plugged in Ethernet directly from cable modem. Same error.
    2. Connected another device to router. It works.

Seems like it's some kind of issue with PC itself - either hardware failure or driver corruption ? Would there be a problem with deleting the Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller in the Control Panel>Network and Internet > Network Connections - restarting and see if that fixes the issue.

    Any other suggestions?

"Network Cable Unplugged" on Ethernet Connection

One thing you might try, enter BIOS and load and save defaults. I was really counting on power fix. Maybe even try again and leave overnight. (Yes, long shot)

So you seem to be well versed in the ways of the PC. I would suggest that you download a copy of Ubuntu and burn it to a disk. Then boot from disk. Do not install it on PC, just say I want to try. With network cable plugged in, see if Ubuntu sees network cable. Firefox is part of the standard package, you can even try that. You should see the icons across the top, right hand side. Please keep wireless disable.

If Ubuntu does not see cable, then you the next step might be disassembling laptop and see if some is amiss. Not much you can fix as it is, in all likelihood solder to board. I see this error with this RealTek device up and down the internet.

You can by an Ethernet to USB device if we get that far.

    Ubuntu at

Download Ubuntu Desktop | Download | Ubuntu

They ask for donation, click not now. This will get you an iso. Use your normal process to mount and burn to disk.

If there is no try option the you can abandon.
