Windows 10: Ethernet connection failing after 20-40 seconds

Hello,This issue has gotten to the point where I'm suspecting a hardware issue, but I'm sharing all the steps I've taken + the issue itself in hopes of determining that there may have been something I overlooked.Issue: I recently acquired an Ethernet to USB 3.0 adapter for my laptop running Windows 11 Home version 22H2 and have the Ethernet cable attached to a mesh router. I am able to communicate with the Internet for about 20-40 seconds, then all connection drops. In the Network Settings, Ethernet reports 'No Internet', despite my adapter still being connected to the laptop itself. The ada

Strollin: I understand your suggestion, but that means I'll have to re-install all my sofftware etc. again. This is not an enticing thought at all.

LCDR: I tried the old activation code I used before - it is the same on you posted.

I tried the steps listed at the WinAero site. Last one failed because it said the server could not be located. But I did get the Jan 20, 2016 date back. So that's something.

 

How to delete an ethernet connection?

Just as title says. I have some old ethernet connections in my list, and I would like to delete it to clean.

Any suggestion?

Try the below suggested steps.

Method 1

1. Unplug all the external devices except Mouse and Keyboard.
   
2. Try to reboot the device and check the status of the issue.
   

Method 2

I would suggest you to perform Power drain by following the suggested steps.

1. Press and hold the Power Button down for 30-40 seconds.
   
2. Hold the Volume Rocker up and Power ON for almost 20 second.
   
3. Release the power button and wait for next 10-15 seconds.
   
4. Press the power button to turn on your Surface and check the status of the issue.
