Windows 10: Ethernet connection in surface laptop

I am not able to connect lan wire to surface laptop, I have updated the drive, when I connect the wire laptop restarts. Pls help

Support for the Surface Connect to USB-C Adapter requires the installation of an update for the Surface System Aggregator Module prior to connecting the adapter to your Surface Pro or Surface Laptop device.

Surface Laptop:

The Surface System Aggregator Module update for Surface Laptop was previously made available on 15 May 2018. If your Surface Laptop is up-to-date with Windows Update or you have installed the 15 May 2018 update from the Microsoft Download Center, your Surface Connect to USB-C Adapter will work with your device out-of-the-box and no further action is required. If your device does not yet have this required update, please run Windows Update to update your device or install the latest drivers for Surface Laptop from the Microsoft Download Center.

The specific driver required for Surface Laptop devices to support the Surface Connect to USB-C Adapter is:

Surface System Aggregator v135.2139.257.0

Surface Pro (Model 1796):

The Surface System Aggregator Module update for Surface Pro (Model 1796) has not previously been made available and is now available via the Microsoft Download Center. To support the Surface Connect for USB-C Adapter on your Surface Pro device, you must download and install one of the following packages from the Surface Pro drivers and firmware page of the Microsoft Download Center:

The specific driver required for Surface Pro devices to support the Surface Connect to USB-C Adapter is:

Ethernet connection/port on my laptop

Hi,

Incompatible network adapter driver can be a possible cause why you are experiencing an issue with connecting your Windows laptop to the Internet using an Ethernet connection. For us to provide an accurate solution, we would need you to answer the following
questions:

Which build and edition of Windows 10 is installed on your computer?

What is the make and model of your laptop?

Are you experiencing the same issue even when you are using another Ethernet cable?

Have you made any changes to your computer setting before this issue occurred?

In the meantime, we suggest connecting your laptop to the Internet using a wireless connection while isolating this issue. For initial troubleshooting, it will be best to install the latest update for your device. Make sure that the
KB4073291 update OS Build 16299.201 is installed on your computer.

If the same issue persists after installing the updates, run the automated troubleshooter for network adapters. Visit this
link, click on Find and fix problems with wireless and other network adapters and then follow the prompts
to successfully run the tool. Restart your device and then check if you'll have the same issue.

Thanks for the suggested solution which I tried. My feedback:

Update download was completed but installation did not complete and the message popped up that stated that update is not compatible and cannot be installed.

Are you experiencing the same issue even when you are using another Ethernet cable?

yes, tried different cables

(also same ethernet cable & connection works on my mac notebook)

Have you made any changes to your computer setting before this issue occurred?

Can't say with certainty about changes, if any, made. Normally i don't fiddle with the laptop systems.

ethernet port was working just fine and suddenly became dsysfunctional about two weeks back.

Checked Network adapters in the device manager which highlights Killer E2200 Gigabit Ethernet Controller with a yellow mark. Also checked network adapter driver which states that installed driver is the latest.
