  1. Ethernet Connection Limited to 100Mbps Instead of 1Gbps

Hello!I have a GA-B85M-D3PH motherboard that supports 1Gbps connections, but I've only been able to achieve that speed for two days. After that, my connection remains stuck at 100Mbps. I verified this both through speed tests and in the Ethernet properties.I'm using Windows 10 Pro fully updated, along with the Realtek driver version 10.73.815.2024. The "Speed & Duplex" setting is manually configured to 1Gbps, and I'm using a Cat5e cable. From what I can tell, everything seems to be properly set up. I even tested the same cable and connection on a laptop running Windows 11, and it worked p

  3. Ethernet is Limiting download to 10Mbps

You may have to force both the router or switch port and the computer's Ethernet adapter to 100Mbps full duplex. But in my experience, some switch / Ethernet connections prefer and will run faster, with less errors, if both are set to Auto, rather than forced.
It is years ago since I looked at this though, as I always just let them use defaults at home.

I would suspect the cable also, as was already suggested. Even wireless is much faster than 10Mbps these days. My Realtek PCIe Family Controller is connected to Ethernet at 1Gbps.

Do you have some old switch between that might only be capable of 10Mbps?

It is also possible that connectivity has been limited per device by some router setting.

  4. Ethernet Connection Limited to 100Mbps Instead of 1Gbps

Speed stuck at 100Mbps on 1Gb Fibre

    PC is custom built

Speed and Duplex were set to Auto Negotiate but Ethernet Speed was stuck at 100Mbps which is why I have forced it to 1Gbps, but the Ethernet Speed remains the same 100Mbps

Please read the original post as stated the PC is connected directly to the Router via Cat8 Cable.

Power Managment is not the issue everything related to saving power is Disabled

I have even restarted my PC in Safe Mode with Networking and as stated before The Speed and Duplex remains set to 1Gbps but the Ethernet Speed is still at 100Mbps

This means it is not an external program throttling my speeds
