Windows 10: Ethernet connection no longer working and I have 0 clue how to fix it

Yesterday I used my Gaming PC after not playing for probably close to a month, but got on to find that the ethernet connection is just not working at all.

I have wifi capability but it's really shitty and I'd rather leave those bands free for my other devices.

If I go to the bottom right and look at my networks, it says "Unidentified Network - No Internet" and if I go into my network settings it says the same thing.



So far I've tried:

- Turning my pc off and on again

- Disabling Fast Startup

- Using command prompt to run "ipconfig /release" and "ipconfig /renew"

- Uninstalling my ethernet drivers and reinstalling them

- Changing my ethernet cable and changing the powerline adapter it's connected to



I also ran a diagnoses on the ethernet connection and it came up with the error:

"Ethernet" doesn't have a valid IP configuration Not fixed



I have no idea how to fix what is happening and the few guides I've followed have not helped at all

My reliable ethernet connection no longer works

Hi Marcia,

To better understand the query, please answer the following questions:

• After restarting is your computer in normal mode or not?
• Are you getting any error message?

I suggest you to reset the modem\ router and check if the Ethernet connection works or not.

If still the issue persist then I suggest you to follow the steps from the below article

Windows 10 No Longer Connects to Ethernet and WiFi

For a number of months I have used an ethernet connection to a device in my lab and a WiFi connection to the Internet via a DSL modem. Upon boot up the ethernet connection was on (albeit without Internet) and I just manually connected the WiFi to the DSL
modem. Worked fine.

This week brought Win10 ver 1903 and I can no longer get WiFi to connect if the ethernet cable is plugged in. If I boot with ethernet, manually trying to connect WiFi silently fails. If I boot without ethernet, WiFi is automatically connected yet drops
if I plug in the ethernet cable. Both the WiFi and the ethernet work fine by themselves, just not at the same time so I don't think it is a driver problem.

I searched for any others finding a similar problem with 1903, but do not find any. I do note earlier advice to add the fMinimizeConnections=0 register key and tried that. No luck with that.

Any suggestions would be appreciated,
