Windows 10: Ethernet connection question

With Windows 7, There was a place to check if you wanted the computer to search for a
Ethernt connection before connecting to wifi.

I can't find that in W10, and am having difficulties getting the
Ethernet connection to work. I am starting a new job and wireless is prohibited, but Ethernet is not working with 10.

Is there such a place in W10 to do what I did in W7? If so, how do I get there?

Connection Problems

• Have you tried connecting to your WiFi connection when your Ethernet cable is unplugged?
• Are you connecting to the same router using both Ethernet connection and Wireless connection?
• Were there any changes on your computer before this happened?

Windows 10 Turns on by itself

Hi Annu,

I think this issue needs to be resolved ASAP. I have the same problem. This could potentially be a MASSIVE SECURITY HOLE.

Questions to all those who have the problem in case:

Are you connected by WiFi or Ethernet? I'm connected by Ethernet, if you are too then this is potentially a big problem. Magic packets?

 

It is still in the same place as it has always been. Right Click on the Network Icon as it has been since XP.

Nothing got moved. Only major change is that the System Settings panel is taking over in place of the Control Panel. It is for certain items at this time.
