Windows 10: Ethernet download speed is only a fraction of what it should after my pc was unplugged...

I was downloading something on steam while also in a screen share discord call. Suddenly my pc freezes and i cant do anything but move my mouse, i cant even open task manager. So i panicked and unplugged the pc in an attempt to reset it. When it boots back up and resume the download, my speed is a fraction of what it was wired with ethernet, I was hitting 900mbps, now it would max at about 300mbps and it would just not download at all sometimes. I tested the wire with other devices and the speed is normal, so what can i do to fix my pc?

• I would suggest you to test the speed using any of the speed test website or app to confirm the upload and download speed.
• I also suggest you to reset the wireless router to check if that helps.

why does download speed on speedtest not match download speed supplied to pc by ethernet cable?

I used the Xbox Ethernet cable and it didn’t not change my download or upload speed. Ethernet Adapter speed is 100 Mbps transmitted/received. I’m I to assume that my laptop’s Ethernet Adapter is what is limiting my speed?

 

USB to Ethernet Adapter has very slow download speed

First suggestion that comes to mind is to complete the entries in My Computer, can help not only to have the Maker of the machine but the Model Name and Model Number. Question, does the machine not have a built-in RJ45/Ethernet port? Most all do but the thinnest case may not show a full-size socket but have a little piece that is spring-loaded to become larger, my 14" from Oct. does. Does Device Manager, Network adapters should show both a Wireless 802.11n or 802.11ac and the Ethernet in the list, check if Enabled. I looked up that adapter and it should be Gigabit 10/100/1000Mbps, I keep one like it on hand for times when I run into the built-in not working.
