Windows 10: Ethernet not showing up in network options.

When I turned on my computer this morning suddenly the ethernet was not picked up. I have used ethernet for years without a problem on this computer. There's no wifi adaptor either , ethernet is my only option. It is a desktop computer with windows 10. I have uplugged and plugged in my router , restarted the computer and all.SOLUTION:Search 'network reset' in you windows search bar at the bottom left of the desktop. Open up the network reset. Click 'reset now' and wait for your computer to restart. This worked for me

ETHERNET OPTION IS NOT THERE IN NETWORK AND INTERNET SETTINGS

Mostly I use wifi for internet but recently I want to use LAN (wired) connection for internet but it is not working. then i recoginze there was no ethernet option in network and internet settings, i updated drivers of realtek ethernet which was suggested
by support assistant of dell and it is installed but that was not showing in my device manager. So how can i get ethernet connection?

I worked all this out for a Win7-WinXP direct ethernet computer-to-computer network and later amended it for a Win7-Win7 network. A step-by-step procedure for creating a two-computer Ethernet cable network - MSAForum You can use a crossover cable but do not have to. Doing this in Windows 10 is just about the same as doing it in Windows 7 but some diagrams look different & you have to look around for the equivalent settings in some cases. But I suggest you do yourself a favour and get a router so that it does all the hard work for you. Best of luck, Denis

 

Ethernet isn’t an option for network

Hi, I just got a new drive and realize that my Ethernet no longer works. I tried many of the methods for others experiencing similar issue but it didn’t resolve. The Ethernet controller is listed under other devices and cannot be updated. Ethernet is not an option in network and connections and when I run troubleshoot, it tells me the system does not detect a properly installed network adapter/I need to install the driver. Please send help, thank you.
