Windows 10: Ethernet not working after turning on PC again.

Went to sleep after turning off my PC and next morning I powered the computer on and it shows no internet. It has been working perfectly fine for the past few months, ethernet works on other devices as well. I tired using different cables, resetting router/modem, re-installing/updating drivers, using same cable for other devices works, and also tried looking into my LAN status that shows every other device when connected except this one. Green light next to ethernet ISO shield outlet, computer shows that it recognizes an ethernet cable is plugged in and working in control panel just not get

Ethernet shows red X and does not appear in settings, but still works


Not sure why this is happening. I have working ethernet and am connected, it works fine. But the taskbar icon shows a red X over it, and the tooltip says "Not Connected - No connections are available". Looking in "Network & Internet", ethernet is not even listed there. And before anyone suggests wireless interference .. this PC does not have a wireless card or integrated wireless.

Anyway everything works fine except for the ethernet port. Under device manager it is listed as "Ethernet Controller", under the category of "unknown devices" (along with several other unknown devices).

 

Domain network ethernet not working but wifi does?

Hi FreeBooter, I already came across this article and followed the steps with no results, I came across other articles that suggested the same steps but still nothing has worked? Thanks for the reply.
