Windows 10: Ethernet not working on work PC "Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the...

Hi everyone, I'm hoping I can get some help here. Like the title says, I get the error "Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the device or resource is not responding" when I try to troubleshoot my ethernet. This is also on my work PC so there's not many things I can try I've seen online because it's all administrator stuff. Additional information, I plug my ethernet into the wall instead of the router, with my current living situation I can't plug it right into the router but other people seem to have no issue plugging into the wall and using that connection. I've tried using

Ethernet shows red X and does not appear in settings, but still works


Not sure why this is happening. I have working ethernet and am connected, it works fine. But the taskbar icon shows a red X over it, and the tooltip says "Not Connected - No connections are available". Looking in "Network & Internet", ethernet is not even listed there. And before anyone suggests wireless interference .. this PC does not have a wireless card or integrated wireless.

Ethernet disconnected, wifi works

I have been experiencing a problem where my wifi works fine on my computer and other devices, but my ethernet connection is slower and disconnects from time to time.When I browse on chrome the error I receive is "dns probe finished no internet". The ethernet
connection did not work on different pcs either.I am pretty sure the cable isn't broken.

The errors I found were when troubleshooting were:

- Your computer appears to be correctly configured, but the DNS server is not responding

- Ethernet doesn't have valid IP configuration

- The default gateway is not available
