Windows 10: Ethernet - Scortcut does not refresh Status Enable / Disable

Hi


When creating a "Ethernet - Shortcut" on the desktop it will either Enable or Disable the first time only.

example: Say you are now "Enabled" and want to "Disable" you right click on the short cut but pop up screen indicate "Enable"?

It is suppose to show now "Disable"


The state of the pop up always refresh on the original icon under Network Connections folder.

But does not auto refresh from a Desktop short cut.


It will only refresh when you open the "Network Connections folder", bypassing the purpose of the shortcut.


Can Microsoft please fix this?



Note!

The idea is to get the shortcut to work by not restarting or refreshing any other task etc.


Suggestion to Microsoft!

Create a Enable / Disable for a Ethernet point on the Connections pop up from the Task bar.

Currently if Ethernet is off and there is no Wi-Fi the pop up is hidden, make the icon to be always visible and add Enable / Disable.

IP configuration not valid - interference from ethernet adapter?

Solution 1: No Internet Access In Windows 8.1or Windows 10

Step 1:

Go to Device Manager → Network adapters.
Step 2:

Expand it (Network adapters).


Step 3:

Select your network adapter


Step 4:

Right click on your wireless network adapter or Ethernet adapter and then tap “Update Driver Software”.
(in this case your network adopter is Ethernet adopter so tap your Ethernet adapter)
Step 5:

Now on a new window you will need to click on “Browse my computer for driver software”.




Step 6:

Then select “Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer”.



Step 7:

Now choose the “Manufacturer’s drivers” from the list of two and then click next.



Step 8:

After the completion of the process just restart your PC and check if the problem is solved or not. If not, goto solution 2.



Solution 2: No Internet Access In Windows 8.1,windows10

Step 1:

Open command prompt.
Step 2:

Just go on hitting the enter after typing the each command.
netsh int tcp set heuristics disabled
netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disable
netsh int tcp set global rss=enabled
Step 3:

Now to check if the settings are disabled type:
netsh int tcp show global
then hit enter.
Step 4:

Now the thing left is just rebooting your system and just check if the problem is solved or not and just give feedback.*chuckle*Thumbs

 

enable ethernet / fix wifi adapter

how to enable ethernet adapter I don't see it in the network adapter list it was there when I disabled it.

Also my net freezes every 10 minutes saying the gateway is not accessible It's doing it on both of my computers.HELP!!

 

Ethernet disable/enable shortcut

My system's fully up to date as of 8/11 AM, and same for me. Double-clicking the desktop icon just pops up its status dialog, BUT, from the icon's right-click (context) menu, if one selects
Open file location, one can then enable the connection from that. It's just one more step. C'mon, Microsoft, just fix the propagation of Enable to the DT shortcut, so it works as it did in 7SP1! Shouldn't be too hard...
