Windows 10: Ethernet through USB C not working

I have a Dell Vostro 7590 (Brand new computer) and have Windows 10 and Drivers through Dell support assist fully up to date as of the time of writing this.

I installed ethernet in my office yesterday and last night when I was half way done, I connected my computer to ethernet on Windows 10 without issue. This configurations went FIOS Router/Modem -(cat6)> 8 port switch -(cat6)> USB C Ethernet adapter plugged into my computer.

I finished the entire installation today and I cannot get ethernet to work on Windows 10 and when I click on Network and Internet in settings, the tabs I see are "Status" "Wi-Fi" "Dial-up" "VPN" etc, but no ethernet tab like I saw last night.

I know that the system is working because I run a dual boot configuration with Ubuntu 19.10 and in Ubuntu, the wired connection is instantly detected and can achieve full gigabit download and upload speeds. I can not touch anything, boot into Windows and it isn't recognized.

The final configuration is FIOS Router/Modem -(cat6)> 8 port switch -(cat6)> 5 port switch -(cat6)> USB C Ethernet adapter plugged into my computer.

All I've added is an additional cable and switch. I believe this is a Windows 10 issue, any help would be appreciated!

I'm glad they finally cleared up that you could use USB 3.1 Type-A connector the same way you could use USB 3.1 Type-C connector. For a while they had me worried I could connect screen only to USB 3.1 Type-C port.

Just when I thought we will have only two connectors (Type-A and Type-C) they brought up Type-B connector. Instead of Type-B they should use Type-A connector which is as robust as Type-B.
Well done, you screwed up again and now we will have 3 USB connectors in the future instead of 2.
