Windows 10: Eudora email client: does anyone know it? Problem!

Hi,
I have some accounts gmail.com and all work fine with Eudora 7.1.
Recently my NOT gmail.com email stopped working and now I had to change it. So I thought of choosing gmail PIPPO@GMAIL.COM. But Eudora gives me ERROR when I try oo do the "check mail". I attach a photo.I don't understand why, since on the gmail page on the web I configured it in POP3 and the other gmail accounts work fine with Eudora 7.1. And yet I configured this new gmail account perfectly the same as the others...

After some weeks, Eudora seemed to have solved all of the problems I had (or updates from Win 10 may have helped). So now everything works great. However, I have two additional laptops and one desktop I will need to update to Win 10 - all running Eudora. So your suggestion to install off C:\ is well taken. In the 90s and early 2Ks I had several PCs that used that arrangement. Do you know about the Eudora for Windows List (Eudora for Windows <eudora-win@hades.listmoms.net>)? If you do, could you send an email to that address sharing your thoughts regarding the location of Eudora files. One of the most knowledgeable members of the list in Katrina Knight, L: kknight@fastmail.fm. She monitors the list. I would appreciate her thoughts on the alternate installation option. Eudora

The computer world has passed Eudora by. Even if it can be coerced into working with the current Windows 10 build, it's doomed to fail eventually. Far better is an email client such as Thunderbird. Your friend can search for Thunderbird 31.6.0, the last version that supported Eudora import. Once that's been set up and her saved email is safely copied to Thunderbird, she can upgrade to the latest version (currently 68.10.0). I was a longtime Eudora user, but switched to Thunderbird because of problems with gmail and have never looked back.
