Windows 10: Eudora on Windows 10 DEFAULT PROGRAM .. how to make it work properly !! march 2020

Hello everyone ,


i know i'm not the only one still using eudora in 2020 ! it was a great email client and i love it !

I just upgraded from windows 7 to windows 10 and i wanted our lovely eudora to keep on work ..


good news it does work properly as DEFAULT PROGRAM !


if you have your original Eudora folder simply close eudora and rename it :


mine was d:\eudora and i renamed it d:\eudora.old


get eudora OSE here https://softfamous.com/eudora/


install EUDORA OSE and make it DEFAULT d:\eudora


now once installation is over do NOT launch program..


rename d:\eudora in d:\eudora.ose or anything else



and get back your original eudoraeudora.old folder name in d:\eudora



enjoy eudora on windows 10 as default program

• What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?
  
• Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the computer? To check type: winver in the search bar on the Taskbar and hit Enter.

Eudora 7.1.0.9. compatibility with Win 10

Most welcome. I hadn't heard of the Eudora for Windows List, but I will post my findings there as well. Thanks!

 

Eudora Error Message

I use Eudora as my e-mail client, and no, I don't want to use anything else as certain buttinski friends have suggested.

I have a slight problem that does not affect how Eudora works. It's just annoying.

Ever since the Windows update in November, every time I open Eudora I get a popup that says the following:

"Eudora was unable to update the system registry. Your default e-mail program has not been changed."

I click "OK" and everything works fine. But is there any way I can get rid of the message?

If I go to default programs Eudora is set as the default e-mail program, and it does not notify me that it is not the default e-mail program.
