Windows 10: Event 6008: Windows 10 - 1909 crashing randomly.

Greetings,

I have Windows 10 installed on my PC, three days ago it started freezing on its own. A grey or sometimes another plain color screen appears often with stripes on it and I am unable to perform any action, except from restarting it from the power button. I checked on the events log and there is always an error before the crashing: ID 6008. I have tried different things: I updated it to 1909 yesterday, I updated the graphic cards Driver, I tried the clean boot disabling some services, I ran Windows Defender withouth any virus or malware found... I don't really know what else to do.

10 Crashing Randomly and During Updates and File Downloads

This is a re-post from here.

I have a Windows 10 PC that I run 24/7. I have Windows Updates disabled through the Group Policy Editor. I still perform updates manually every few days. Windows Defender updates work fine. Other Windows updates cause the PC to crash, no BSOD or anything, it just turns off. I've looked for 1074, 6006, and 6008 event log files to explain why and I haven't been able to find anything.

Other times the computer just randomly crashes and also sometimes when downloading files. The symptom is the same, I check on it and find it powered down or it just shuts off while I'm using it. It boots back up fine and I see no cause listed in the event logs.

I have been through the 3 tests suggested to me on the old thread. SMART looked good, memtest ran for 33 hours for 8 passes with no errors, and prime was run for 3 hours with no errors.

I think the next step was to run V2 Log collector, that data is attached.

Any help is appreciated.

Event ID 6008, Windows 10 1809

Thanks for your reply Leocadia - I understand your suggestions thank you.

The point I was trying to make is our Win 10 Pro v1803 computers, log Event ID 6008 when an unexpected crash happens. However we have Win 10 pro v1809 machines that crashed when the power failed and did not record an Event ID 6008 so I was not able to tell
when the power actually failed, only when they were rebooted. - so my question is :- is this a bug in the 1809 release or by Microsoft design and has anybosy else experienced this situation ??

Hello

I have been having this problem with my computer. The screen will randomly go black, and the sound will loop right before it shuts off and restarts. Event viewer tells me that its "event 6008: The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first.
This error could be caused if the system stopped responding, crashed, or lost power unexpectedly" that is causing this. I have a Nvidia Geforce GTX 960, an i5 4690k 3.50 GHz CPU, Z97x-SLI motherboard, and 8 Gigs of ram.

Anyone know whats going on here? Id appreciate some help.
