  2. Kernel-Power event id 41. BugcheckCode 0

    Hello,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Community Forums.

In-order to get more clarity on this issue and to assist you with appropriate troubleshooting steps, reply with answers to the below questions:

    1. Are you aware of any changes made on your PC, prior to this issue?
    2. Is this issue specific while playing a particular game?
    3. Which edition of Windows are you currently using?

A Kernel Power Event 41 can occur in the following scenarios.

Scenario 1: The computer restarts, and there is a Stop error BugcheckCode in the event data.

Scenario 2: The computer is shut down by pressing and holding the power button.

Scenario 3: The system randomly restarts and no Stop error BugcheckCode is listed, or the computer is completely unresponsive (hard hang).

I suggest you refer the article on Kernel
    Power Event ID 41
and follow the steps for the scenario that is causing this error on your PC.

Additionally, you can refer the article on Windows
Kernel event ID 41 error "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first" in Windows

    and check if that helps.

  3. Event ID 56 Application Popup not found error

    • Event ID 41 isn't recorded or the bug check code is zero. This behavior might indicate a power supply problem. If the power to a computer is interrupted, the computer might shut down without generating a Stop error. If it does generate a Stop error, it might not finish writing the error codes to disk. The next time the computer starts, it might not log Event ID 41. Or, if it does, the bug check code is zero. The following conditions might be the cause:
      • In the case of a portable computer, the battery was removed or drained.
      • In the case of a desktop computer, the computer was unplugged or experienced a power outage.
      • The power supply is underpowered or faulty.

So, in all probability, it's the power supply.

Event ID: 41 Source Kernel Power

There is some info here: Description of Windows Kernel event ID 41 error in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2: "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first"

Also, it is not necessarily an indicator that the PSU is at fault... just one of the possibilities.

Have you updated any drivers or firmware lately?

You may want to check the "Event Viewer" in the "Administrative Tools" to see what led to the event 41.
There maybe info in there or a pattern.
I caused one the other day when I was playing with some project. I caused explorer to hang... locking up and a shutdown without being able to record any bugcheck codes, so it generated a event 41 with no bug check codes.
The bug check codes are the details. If the event 41 has them then it can help figuring out what may have caused it.
You can, sometimes, trace it out with the event viewer.
    Example:
    *37178-7a3afbf0d10a5e91822ad6cf8e0e9f9a.jpg*

Could be an O/C going south(bad).
    Run a memtest.
Could be an update that is not settling well with your system. (try rolling back the updates or a system restore to a point before the trouble began).
Run a "chkdsk /r /f " (no quotes) from a command prompt or with the UI.
Run a "sfc /scannow" (no quotes and a space between the "c" & "/") from an administrative command prompt.
Check your power and reset buttons on the case.
Check your power connector (wall plug, back of PSU, connectors on MB, etc.)
Since it is continual... you should check your system restore points for some idea of any install of software, updates and such that may be the cause. Look at the windows update history, too.
Use MSconfig tool to try booting clean and seeing if it still happens.

    To run msconfig.exe:
    1. Click Start, and then click Run.
    2. In the Open box, type msconfig, and then click OK.

Oh and test that PSU... could be, but... could a lot of things.
