  1. Event logs spike up constantly

On a windows 10 laptop, the event logs are consuming around 20% CPU constantly. Even when they are cleared , it starts building up the logs again. This is also when a windows 10 update is due to be installed.

  2. Random Lag Spikes With Event Viewer Error

    Adam

Your latest Event Viewer System log shows that the computer has not been restarted since yesterday. Are you letting it go to sleep and then waking it up? This is not the same as shutting down or restarting the computer.

With regard to the spike will you please note the exact time it next occurs and then upload a further Event Viewer log.

Select the keyboard shortcut Win+S, type
    Services,
click Services in the drop down list and press the
ENTER key. Locate BitLocker Drive Encryption Service in the list. Check that it has started and that the StartUp type is
Automatic. If it is not set to Automatic right click and select Properties, General tab. There is a box after StartUp type. The options are available on a drop down by clicking on the arrow down to the right of the box. Make the change and
click on Apply and OK. Restart the computer and check whether it has started.

Please restart your computer and allow 20 minutes for the system to run before uploading information required to help me investigate your problem. When examining Event Viewer log files many, not all, problems show in the period immediately after
    the computer has been booted.

Please upload to your OneDrive and share with everyone a copy of your
System log file from your Event Viewer and post a link here. Please remove any earlier copies of the logs from your OneDrive.

To access the System log select the keyboard shortcut Win+R, type
eventvwr.msc and press the ENTER key. From the list in the left side of the window select Windows Logs and System. Place the cursor on System, select Action from the Menu and
Save All Events as (the default evtx file type) and give the file a name. Do
not provide filtered files. Do not place the cursor in the list of reports before selecting Action from the menu. Do
not clear logs whilst you have a continuing problem.

When you have done the above can you please provide a screen shot image of what you see when the system “spikes”.
