  1. EventID 157 Logged "Disk X" has been surprise removed

Approximately once a day (at varying times) all of my external USB3 drives (I currently have 3 connected) become disconnected and all of them log EventID 157 - "Disk N has been surprise removed", where N is 1,2 or 3. Most of the time it isn't so bad, but if this happens when I'm in the middle of writing something that can't be replaced to one of the drives, obviously the write operation is aborted and my file is lost.

It is not a one-off thing, and seems very strange to me that all of them log their disconnect messages at the same exact moment.

Can anyone make any suggestions as to how to tackle this issue?

  2. unexpected store exception

Something is telling the controller to disconnect drive. AHCI controlled drives are able to be removed like USB via Safely Remove. Event ID 157 "Disk # has been surprise removed" Disk 0 has been surprise removed EventId: 157
But it's not good so I would run the drive's diagnostics to be sure of its condtion. If none then use bootable Seatools which works for all brands: Boot SeaTools off of a USB Drive SeaTools for DOS and Windows - How to Use - Windows 7 Help Forums
Check the cables are good and securely connected. If in doubt keep the data backed up in real time or replace the drive. Keep us posted.
