Windows 10: EventID 6008

My computer keeps restarting constantly despite performing multiple updates to its drivers as well as the operating system. Auto Locking and Shutting Down

Fitzy,

I suggest that you look in Event viewer to see what happens at the time of these unexpected shutdowns.

In case you are not familiar enough with Event viewer - 1 Unzip the attachment Power - Starts, shutdowns.zip
2 Open Event viewer [%windir%\system32\eventvwr.msc]
3 On the right-hand side, click on Import custom view. Call it whatever you want when it prompts you. I call mine Power - Starts, shutdowns
4 On the left-hand side, click on Custom views to expand the list and look at Power - Starts, shutdowns
5 Each entry has a time.
6 'Good' entries will be EventID 1074 and will be shown as Information entries
7 'Bad' entries will be EventID 6008 and will be shown as Error entries with a red icon.
If your surprising shutdowns are consistently shown at the appropriate times as EventID 6008 then this will confirm that Windows is not shutting down for legitimate reasons.
- I'd say that temperature monitoring, as suggested by Megahertz, would be an appropriate response.
- Do also try to note what you are doing at the time of the surprising shutdowns in the hope that a pattern emerges.

Unexpected Restarts and Event Id 6008

About once every four or five hours my computer will restart unexpectedly.

I have checked the system log and found event id 6008. The following is the event properties:
