Windows 10: Events on Outlook Calendar Deleted, Retained on GMail Calendar???

The Basics


Using Windows 10 Calendar (Outlook) as my primary calendar. The calendar contains two accounts, my Microsoft Live Account and my Gmail Account. In the left panel, I have the Gmail Calendar checked – the Outlook calendar is unchecked. When I add an event, the default dropdown is my Gmail calendar which is what I want as my default.


My Problem


Events that I add to my calendar show up in both my Outlook calendar and my Gmail calendar as expected – or maybe not quite as expected. I’ve just discovered that if I add an event several months in the future, it momentarily appears on my Outlook calendar and then is deleted (I see a brief deleted message appear). If I then go directly to my Gmail calendar, the event I just added shows up as expected. As of today (March 24), the cutoff date when the Windows/Outlook calendar automatic deletes begin to occur is September 7 (or 167 days from now). I haven’t yet experimented to see if the cutoff date moves forward every day.


Very strange. Anybody know what’s going on. If you have a similar calendar setup as mine, give it a try and see if your experience is the same. By the way, my Windows 10 system is fully updated.

Windows10 Mail/Calendar App deletes past events

My primary calendar is my Gmail calendar which I sync to my iPhone and Windows10 Laptop Mail/Calendar app.

I don't use Outlook for mail/calendar. Using my Gmail calendar via web-browser or iPhone, all past events are visible, but my Windows10 Mail/Calendar app deletes all events greater than 14days past. I've checked all app settings and Outlook settings (when
to delete past events - NEVER) and cannot resolve this unwanted archive. Is this a limitation of the app? Any help appreciated.

 

Unable to enter past events to Windows 10 Calendar and have the event STAY on the Calendar app

I am having a syncing issue with my Windows 10 Calendar app

I use the Calendar app for Windows 10. My gmail calendar is synced to my windows 10 calendar app, and all of my appointments, school due dates are all on that calendar.

Now, if I try to enter an event for a date in the past -- for example: I am trying to put down that on January 17th I had an assignment due (Today is February 2nd) -- I create the event on the Windows 10 calendar app, and then a few seconds later, it all
of a sudden deletes the event.

My first thought was that the event was permanently deleted, but it's not. When I go to my Gmail account and look at my calendar from there, I can see the event that I created on there. So ONLY the Windows 10 Calendar app is deleting any events that I try
to enter that's before the current date

Is there a way that I can enter past events on the Windows 10 calendar app and they STAY on the Calendar? I've already gone to calendar.live.com and checked the settings to make sure that it says "never" for deleting past events -- that's not the problem.

It just doesn't make sense that when I try to enter an event from a previous date that the Windows 10 Calendar app deletes it, but yet my Gmail calendar (the calendar that is synced to my Windows 10 Calendar app) has it saved when I go to my gmail account.

Side note: I can't use Microsoft Outlook 2016 -- so that's not even an option. When I try to do the setup for Microsoft Outlook, it's not able to add my Gmail account to Outlook no matter how many times I try to add the account.

 

Update - The problem does move ahead each day. The auto - deletes now begin on 9/9.

Everyone that uses the windows calendar along with the google calendar and schedules events longer than six months should take note!!! I can't find anything that would indicate to me that Microsoft is working on a solution to the problem (since the 6 month+ items show up on the Google calendar but not on the Windows calendar, my assumption is the problem is with the Windows calendar).
