Windows 10: Every Button on Taskbar Not Working/ Interacting! Windows 11

I don't know why button anything I click on the taskbar like the start button, search bar, and even settings button won't open or interact. I can't access most of the apps I use because of this, and I can't even go on settings to reset the computer. It won't let me open the setting where you adjust your battery, volume, brightness, and wifi. Please help with an answer that will actually help.

Windows 11 taskbar icons not working

I appreciate your interest in Windows 11. I understand that Taskbar icons are not working after upgrading to Windows 11. I’ll certainly assist you with the issue.



However, please let us know:

1. What happens when you click on an icon on the Taskbar?
   
2. Do you receive any error message/code?
   
3. Does this issue occur with all the icons?
   

Meanwhile, I would suggest you to try re-registering the taskbar and see if that works. Kindly follow the steps mentioned below.

1. Press Windows + X keys together and click on Windows PowerShell (Admin)
   
2. Now type in the following command and hit Enter: Get-AppXPackage -User ([System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity]::GetCurrent().Name) *ShellExperienceHost* | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register “$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml”}
   
3. Restart the PC once the command is complete.
   

If the issue persists, you can try creating a new user account and then see if you are able to access the icons on the Taskbar.

WIN7 Taskbar non-interactive

I have a Dell 7480 with an old style dock (not thunderbolt).

Whenever I close the lid to my laptop and use the external monitors, the Windows 7 taskbar is non-interactive. Meaning, I am unable to select any of the icons, windows start menu, etc on the task bar. If I open the lid slightly, I can interact as normal.

I have asked my IT team for help, they can use one of their profiles and it work normally.

But mine does not.

I have the lid functions set to "do nothing" when I close the lid or press the power button.

Any suggestions on how to fix the annoyance?
