  1. Every day I run into periods where my system is not usable.

I go to Task Manager and try to see what is causing the issue and all I can see is a listing of operations that are literally jumping up and down the list. Of course the order of items is based on whatever I click on at the top of the listing where items are listed such as CPU, Memory, Disk, Network, GPU engine, Power usage, Power usage trend and that is all. The problem is when I go there to see what is eating all of my memory and CPU usage, the listing is jumping so rapidly you cannot tell anything. The only except seems to be Windows Desktop Manager. Then the listing is made up of Goog

    :)

  2. 16GB RAM only 8GB usable on Windows 10 x64

have 16GB of RAM installed on my computer, but only 8GB is usable. I am running Windows 10 x64. I have tried the following steps to fix this issue, but they have not worked:

    1. I have updated the BIOS to the latest version.
    2. I have tried reseating the RAM modules.
    3. I have tried using different RAM modules.
    4. I have tried run-MSConfig
I am still not able to use all 16GB of RAM. Any suggestions?

    Thanks,

Need Serious Help: How To Record Video of What is Done on my PC?

I suggest the following simple steps:

    1. Set the autosave options in MS Office to a low value say 5 minutes.
    2. Setup file history to autosave frequently - the shortest period is 5 mins
    3. Install Macrium Reflect Free and configure it to do a daily incremental system backup

You should be well covered if you do the above to protect your key files.

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

    1. Have you installed all pending updates?

    2. Did you make any changes to your computer prior to this issue?

I suggest you to follow the Methods below.

Method 1: Check if the issue exists in a clean boot start up.

Follow the steps here to troubleshoot the issue. There could be a program that takes time to load and this could slow down the system.

How to perform a clean boot in Windows - Microsoft Support

Note: Once troubleshooting is done please follow "How to reset the computer to start as usual after clean boot troubleshooting" from the article to boot the computer in normal mode.

Method 2: Please follow the steps to run System Maintenance troubleshooter on the computer:

    • Type “Control Panel” on the search box.
    • Click on Troubleshooting.
    • Click on View all option on the left side of the Windows.
    • Click on System Maintenance option.
    • Click on Next and follow the onscreen instructions to troubleshoot the issue.

Hope this helps. If the issue remains unresolved, please get back to us and we would be happy to help

    Thanks
