Windows 10: Every Icon on my computer is gone, but text on my desktop is still there.

This morning I opened my computer to see that all of my desktop icons were somewhat gone. You see, the icons are now just text and the taskbar is now just boxes. I thought this was weird but everything I could find online was about hiding the icons and showing them which was not my problem. I even found out that all of my files in file explorer, including images, were gone. I can't find any solution online and i'm thinking of fully restarting my device. Desktop icons are gone only text shows

My computer only shows text for the desktop icons. It still works but it's get annoying that I can't see my icons. I've been looking at different methods online, but nothing seems to work.

Unfortunately, you will not be able to resize only the Desktop items. However, you may customize the display to make the icons bigger or change the text size.

  Under Display, you can customize the options according to your use.
  
  If you need to increase the Desktop icon text size, you may follow these steps:

  Click on Display and change the settings for the icon text size.

Icons gone, labels still there

Today, I started up my computer and, for some reason, all of the icons for my applications, folders, and all other files were missing, but the names were still there. I also noticed that the icons for my applications in the taskbar were replaced with generic .exe icons.




The same thing applies to my folders.




As I continued to use my computer, I found that all of the icons would appear when downloading a file from the internet or attaching a file to an email.




I have restarted my computer several times, restarted explorer.exe, and rebuilt my icon cache, but nothing has happened. This is really annoying and I hope there is an easy fix for it.
