I noticed this issue occur a few months ago. I have followed the instructions on other users' posts regarding this issue and nothing has helped. I created another user account on my pc and while that worked, I want this to work on my OWN user account, not a different one. I have also tried doing a Clean Boot for my system and that has not worked either. Is there anything else that I can do in order to fix this problem?

    :)

About downloading files not appearing on Desktop unless refreshing

This Refresh problem has existed for at least twenty years. It can come & go.

I wasted months of my life investigating the issue & trying out innumerable so-called solutions.
    - Some worked for a very short period.
    - Some did not work at all.
    - None fixed the problem permanently.

I suggest that you do not waste time. Just accept it and get on with more productive work.

    All the best,
    Denis

About downloading files not appearing on Desktop unless refreshing

Hi qwvb1111 and welcome to the forum. This type of behavior happens to me occasionally when downloading or copying files to the desktop. I’ve never seen a consistent pattern so I’ve never been able to find a cause but since it’s infrequent it’s never really bothered me. I might suggest that you create a separate folder just for saving your downloaded files to avoid this issue as your desktop is not the best place to use as a temporary file destination.
