Every time I login in, a "Temporary" file opens

The past few times like 7 I have booted into Windows 10 Home 21H1 19043.1586 Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.4170.0, a prompt appears asking me what application I would like to use to open the file probably no file extension. Most of the time I ignore it, and when I do open it with Notepad, it appears to be a log file called "Temporary" with no file extension. The log file seems to contain logs from Microsoft Visual Studio 2022 C++ packages. I do not care about these packages, however it seems strange as the only packages I have installed on Visual Studio 2022 is the .NET Desktop

    :)

  2. How To Delete Temporary Internet Files And Temporary Files In Windows 10

    Hi,

As you are saying that you are not able to delete the temporary internet files and temporary Files in Windows 10.

Provide us with the below details for better clarity on the issue.

1.Have you installed any third party applications to clean up temporary Files?

2.In the Disk Cleanup had you checked the Temporary Internet files and Temporary files before doing disk cleanup?

I suggest you to follow the below steps and try deleting the temporary internet files.

    • Open Internet Explorer by typing Internet Explorer in Search Bar. Click the
      Tools
button, and then click Internet Options.
    • Click the General tab, and then, under Browsing history, click
      Delete.
    • In the Delete Browsing History dialog box, select the check boxes for the information you want to delete, click
      Delete, and then click OK.
I also suggest you refer the Microsoft article on View and delete browser history in Microsoft Edge
    and check if it helps.

Let us know if the issue with the deletion of temporary files is resolved we will be glad to assist you further.

    Deleting Temporary Files

Yes, they can, and should be, deleted periodically.

The temp folder provides workspace for programs. Programs can create temporary files there for their own temporary use. Each program should delete all its temporary files when it closes, but for various reasons it doesn't always happen (for example,
if the program crashes, it never gets to do this). That's why it's a good idea to periodically clean out anything left there.

Also note that there are some program installations which work in two steps. The first step concludes by writing temporary files and rebooting. The second step starts automatically after rebooting and needs to find those files there (and then deletes
    them when it's done).

Other than doing it automatically when rebooting (that would interfere with installations like the kind I described), it's always safe to delete the contents of the temp folder. Because it's safe to delete any temp files that aren't open and in use
by an application, and since Windows won't let you delete open files, it's safe to (try to) delete them at any time. If any fail to delete because they're open, they'll either be deleted automatically when the app using them closes, or you'll get them the
    next time you delete manually.

Some people may suggest that you reboot before deleting anything, but that's not necessary, for the reason described above (on the other hand, it doesn't hurt to do it).

Simply, HOW? I got the DDS plugin but the POS wont open DDS files still. Can someone give me a step-by-step rundown of how to install the DDS plugin for gimp so I know if I'm missing something?
