Windows 10: Every time I switch monitors on my new laptop, all my windows get resized and moved into a...

My laptop just got replaced. On my new laptop, all my windows get resized and moved into a silly geometry - every time I switch monitors. On my old laptop this was not the case both Win-10. How can I stop this behavior and have Windows keep the same geometry? This behavior is really disturbing my work as I work on multiple systems and have a huge monitor that I use for all systems - so switching monitors happens a hundred times per day. I cannot re-re-rearrange all open windows every time.

• Does it happen only on one application?
• Which application are you having issues resizing or moving?

In the meantime, we suggest you to run the Windows 10 troubleshooter. Kindly follow the steps below:

• Press Windows key +X, select
  Control panel
• Change the view by option on the top right to
  Large icons
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the
  view all option on the left panel
• Run the Windows Store apps troubleshooter

Unable to resize or move the start window

I just picked up a new laptop with windows 10 build 15063.726 and I am unable to resize or move the start window. I get the double pointed arrow to resize but nothing happens in either direction nor can I move the window to a better place. I can add/delete
tiles or change tile size but not the window. Any suggestions to fix or try?

This is super annoying.
