Windows 10: Every time I try to connect to my phone's hotspot it keeps redirecting me to this site...

The laptop that I am using is a HP pavilion running windows 11. The problem that I have is that every time that I use my phones hotspot is keeps redirecting me to "http://www.msftconnecttest.com/redirect" but it stays stuck in a loop. Before December 2022 I had no such issues connecting to my hotspot. I have already changed my browser and even rested my laptop, but none have worked. Any details on this would be helpful. Find my Phone keeps redirecting me?

I have recently lost my Windows 8 phone and thought i'd make use of the find my phone feature, only to find that the website keeps redirecting me to the wrong page! My phone is definitely on (it rings) so it isn't the device itself. Every time I click the
'Find my phone' option under the 'My phone' list, it redirects me to the how to page. The links on that page redirect me to the 'my phone page' and the link on that redirects me to the how to page and so on.

It was suggested that maybe my area is not compatible with this feature. I live in Northern Ireland, UK.

I'd really appreciate any help.

(i've also been given direct links to the page and it still directs me to the wrong page )

 

Windows not discovering mobile hotspot

I think you have already answered both of the other points I would have checked so I have nothing else useful to suggest -
- Your computer can detect other 2.4GHz networks/hotspots
- Other computers can detect your phone's 2.4GHz hotspot

I have deliberately altered some Windows settings to hide unwanted local networks [not just stop any connection to them but hide them from appearing in the list of available networks]. But you have not been taking similar measures or you would have said so.

As a final check, see if your phone's mobile hotspot appears in the list of detected networks using
NirSoft WiFiInfoView

How do I share PDAnet USB internet connection via Windows Hotspot?

So here's what you do:

1. turn on actual mobile hotspot (the one on your phone)
   
2. connect PC to it
   
3. bottom right of Windows is the notifications button, click it and hit mobile hotspot, it won't be greyed out anymore.
   
4. leave the PC hotspot on while turning off the phone's mobile hotspot
   
5. teather phone to PC (PDAnet, foxfi, whatever)
   
6. bask in glorious Wi-Fi
   

This used to be about 10 steps longer but I've simplified it. 
I'll update if I find an easier way.
