    Everything extremely slow suddenly after last update


    I have a HP Pavillion gaming laptop:

    8gb ram, i5 9th Gen, Nvidia GTX1650 4gb. Everything was running perfectly and was very fast till yesterday, suddenly from today after a windows update, my gaming laptop is slower than a 4gig i3 notebook of mine. Even games like FIFA 19 has lags and blacks out.

    Any suggestion is welcome, this is really bugging me since even everyday tasks are not smooth.

    Jumplist sometimes extremely slow

    I bought a new laptop with Windows 10 recently.

    Only after a few days, the jump lists started to get extremely slow.

    But they behave that way just for a while, then they work as they should again.

    When slow, it takes several minutes for the jump list to appear. It is extremely annoying. Especially e.g. when I have opened a remote desktop and want to open another one via the jumplist.

    I had exactly the same problem with my old Windows 7 PC and assumed that I would get rid of that problem,
    changing both PC and OS, but no.

    I do not want the standard answers to this problem:

    - Disable Aero

    - Clear the (Explorer) Cache for Jump lists

    - etc.

    It is definitely something else. I mean, how would the jump list cache get full after only a week? And why does the jump list get slow only sometimes and then suddenly works just fine again?

    So please, give me an answer that takes this into consideration.

    Windows Update suddenly hangs?

    Windows Update is suddenly hanging for some reason... I went and downloaded and installed the first bunch of updates, restarted when asked, and now when I go back to windows update I just get the window with a white box forever. Reboot and it still does it. This happens to be on my main machine, running windows 7.

    I've also noticed when I reboot it says configuring windows update, step 3 of 3, 47%. Maybe it somehow skipped something and is screwed forever?
