Windows 10: Everything in my "Pictures" folder suddenly was deleted.

My computer has Windows 10 installed in it

I can't find any solution anywhere.

They say "look into your onedrive folder" but theres nothing there either. There is nothing in the recycle bin. There is nothing in the "restore previous versions".

When I try to go after a solution it just seems like there is NO ONE having the same issue. Literally nothing is working.

Something I noticed was that not only it deleted everything in my pictures folder but it looks like it also changed the folder's name. My computer language was set to portuguese and my pictures folder was originally named "imagens" which is "images" in portuguese and then all of a sudden my original "images" folder was deleted and replaced by a folder named "pictures" and I tried to reach the original folder by changing the address on explorer and it would just take me to the same empty "pictures" folder.

I lost everything that was important and it apparently deleted my backups too. It's like my computer is trying to purposefully screw me up! :

Trouble deleting a folder

Thanks for the suggestion but it says "delete folder failed for E:\....." for each folder I try.

Will I be forever stuck with these unnecessary folders? *Oh Well hwell:

 

Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

• I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

• Then I tried to remove the Pictures folder with option one at Add or Remove Folders from This PC in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials. Even after rebooting, the Pictures folder remained.
• So I tried using option two. Same thing: reboot >> Pictures folder still there.

• Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.

That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.

 

Suddenly reappear a deleted folder

I notices two other strange things.

1. The folder is not complete empty. It has also a folder inside. In this folder is exist also a empty folder.
2. I tried to move the 'Public' folder to wastebin and the I asked from Bitdefender to erase the waste bit. Bitdefender read this name wrong. See attachment.
3. When I confirm to delete it, it said that access denied - See second attachment.

PS: The folder name between the two screenshots is different because I restore the folder, change the name and move it back to wastebin.
