Windows 10: Everything on my PC reads as corrupted or unreadable

So I let a friend see my laptop for 2 days and he gave it back but now everything seems to be corrupted permanently. He did get a virus on my laptop call synaptic.exe which I managed to remove after multiple factory resets but my laptop cant open anything but files, cmds and a few other things Now since I factory reset my laptop can't even open internet explorer or Microsoft edge so I can't get on anything. My laptop is basically a potato at this point.I factory reset multiple timesI used chkdsk I haven't used any USBs I don't know if my friend used one Everytime I try to use Microsoft edge

Reading emails doesn't always mark them unread

I'm a little confused - do you mean read or unread once it's been deleted? I get the following behaviour:

• Read email (this should mark it read)
• Press delete
• Sync email or wait for sync

What this does is move the email from my inbox into my deleted (or trash, or bin, or whereever it's supposed to go) correctly. However, the email is still marked as UNREAD, when it should be marked read as I have already read it. If I leave it in my inbox,
without deleting it, the next time it syncs, it's marked as read, correctly, it's only if I delete it that it leaves it as unread.

Is this the behaviour you're getting?

 

E7 - emails keep changing from read to unread

I have several POP3 email accounts and I will change emails from unread to read. After some time (from seconds to days or even weeks), some of them will reappear as unread. Any suggestions on this?
