Windows 10: Everything Tests Fine, But PC Freezes Everywhere Except Safe Mode!

Hey guys!Just to let you know, English isn’t my first language, so I had a little help from ChatGPT to write this. Hope it makes sense!I’ve been using this PC for about 1-2 years, and it’s been running fine with no issues until a few months ago. Recently, the system started freezing all the time—during startup, Windows installation, and even during normal use. The weird part? The system works fine in Safe Mode. It froze during the installation process multiple times, and even though I had this issue before and it seemed to fix itself, the issue came back few days ago. Since then, the freezing

PC freeze within 30sec of boot, works fine in safe mode

Hi there,

Having an issue with my Laptop, running win 10 pro.

Freezing in less than 30 secs of boot normal boot.Safe mode works fine where I have tried to run sfc now issue found.

So here is a quick list of what I have so far tried

• Boot to safe mode sfc /scannow no issue found
• Tried a clean boot(disable all no MS services) and reboot
• Sign in under a new user account
• Read logs but nothing seen freezing seem to not write any logs.
• Memory test passed
• chkdsk passed
• run windows repair off disk
• Sure there is more than I can not think of at the moment as my brain is ready to sleep
• System Restore
• Startup Repair

I am thinking it might be a driver based issue due to working fine when in safe mode but haven't updated any drivers.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Laptop freezes on login screen but works fine in safe mode.

Problem:

I have an HP 15-eq laptop. It suddenly crashed while I was working and now when I try to boot, it reaches the login screen but if move the cursor, the screen freezes and turns black and the laptop stops responding.

Steps taken so far:

1. Startup repair from winRE. It said auto repair was unable to solve the problem.
   
2. HP diagnostics extensive memory test. Result: passed
   
3. Reset while keeping the files. Result: reset was done and all the apps are gone but the problem persists.
   
4. Boot into safe mode. Result: everything seems to be working fine in safe mode, which leads me to believe this is not a RAM or SSD issue, but a software issue. But what type of software issue won't get resolved by a reset?
   
5. Event viewer had only one type of critical event which is event 41 kernel power.
   

OS: Windows 10 build 19044

Kindly help me resolve this issue.

I suggest that you do this steps in able to deep scan your PC that is affecting your GPU when inserted and if this does not fixed it then you should go buy a new GPU because it may be corrupted

YOU SHOULD PROBABLY GO TO SAFE MODE THEN SCAN USING MALWAREBYTES TO DELETE UNDELETABLE VIRUS OR TROJANS

Step 1 : Download And Install Malwarebytes

Step 2 : Go to Safe Mode here are the Steps :

1. Click Windows-button then go to On/Off Button.

2. Hold down the Shift key and click Restart.

3. Click the option Troubleshoot and then Advanced options.

4. Go to “Advanced options” and click Start-up Settings.

5. Under “Start-up Settings” click Restart.

6. Various boot options are displayed. Press 4 to go to Safe Mode

7. Windows 10 is now starting in Safe Mode.

Step 3 : when you are already in Safe Mode, Run a Full Scan on Malwarebytes then wait for it to be finished and remove all the virus detected and then Restart your pc/laptop.
