    Everytime I hover cursor over 'New' in right-click sub-menu, Windows freezes and restarts...


    Often, I want to create a new folder so I right-click either on the Desktop or in Explorer to open the sub-menu to choose New > Folder, but no sooner as I hover cursor over New, Windows freezes momentarily to restart Explorer and refreshes the display by the looks of it.The only exception to this is in the root C: Any folder under C: whether it be Windows folder itself, Program Files folder etc, it freezes and restarts.I also have the issue of Explorer not showing thumbnails correctly for photos if that helps and could be related.Thanks very much and hope you can help.

    Hi Mitja,

    My name is Jocelyn, an independent advisor happy to help.

    I appreciate the steps you have taken so far to resolve the issue. If you haven't tried restarting the Windows Explorer process please try the steps below and check:

    Restart the explorer.exe Process.

    Right-click on the Taskbar and select Task Manager.

    On the Processes tab, right-click on the Windows Explorer process and select Restart.

    If that doesn' work follow the suggestion provided by Kapil Arya MVP on the mentioned Microsoft thread below:

    Stopping cursor hovering

    I have a new Lenovo laptop with Windows 10 Pro. I cannot turn off the hovering feature that changes windows everytime the cursor hovers over a new window. I am using the touchpad, not a mouse. I have followed the published instructions of unclicking the "Activate a window by hovering..." box and restarting the computer (several times) with no success. this unwanted feature is making staying on task while using this computer almost impossible. What is my solution?

    Feature suggestion: Add right-click menu

    Suggestion: Please add a Windows 7 Jump-List and/or right-click menu to the GPU-Z icon in the Windows taskbar. Possible menus in it would be "Exit" and "About GPU-Z...".
    Maybe also "Switch to tab 1/Switch to tab 2/Switch to videocard 1/Switch to videocard 2" too.
    Examples of programs that have such menus are ICQ, Skype, AIM.

    NOTE: It seems for a right-click menu, Windows 7 is not needed - it works on WinXP and Vista too.
    But even a Windows 7 Jump-list may be good enough.
    What do you think?
