Everytime I log on either on my laptop or desktop I get this notice

This notice appears on my right notice window (windows 10) every time I log on with either the Laptop or the Desktop.

    Microsoft Account
You need to fix your Microsoft Account for
apps on your other devices to be able to
Launch apps and continue experiences on
    this device.

When I click on the notice at it take me to a setting screen but there is a logon screen on top of it and I have to log on in order to see the setting screen. Looking at the setting screen I don't know what they want me to do but I did see the 'Location' on so I turned it off. Anyway I still get the message every time I log on both laptop or desktop but now I just ignore it.

I googled it with the message and most of the post said it was because of a microsoft update and will be fixed on the next update. Will I just had and update and it still does it. anybody else experiencing this?

    Mik

    :)

    Hi,

Third-party software installed on your computer is one of the possible reasons why this issue is happening. This
    thread
suggests disabling MFC services to help resolve the issue. Follow the recommended steps given by
gautamchhugani. To disable startup apps, follow the steps below:

    • Open Task Manager.
    • Go to Startup tab.
    • Right-click the app that maybe causing the issue, then click Disable.
Get back to us with the outcome so we can help you out further.

Hi there. Just to be sure > You are signing in with an MS account using a password, pin, or Windows Hello on both devices?

Check in the Accounts section of the Settings app on both and make sure all is well there.

I don't think that's true about the update, but we shall see.

I'm signing on with just a password I have never setup a pin. I'm 73 so the process for setting a pin was a little confusing for me. Can't you just use the password or do you have to also have a pin?

It's not an Update issue. Go to this page to check your MS account - Manage Your Microsoft Account in One Place
If there's a log in issue, you'll know right away and you should see both the laptop and desktop listed on your page under 'Devices'.

Also not quite sure what a window's hello is? Doesn't microsoft believe in Occums Razor 'the simplest alternative for a process is the one preferred. Passwords, Pins, and a Hello don't seem as a very simple way to log on to window to me *Sad

One should have sign in means for security.

Old tech is not necessarily the safest, though. Windows Hello is fingerprint and facial recognition. One must have the proper hardware for it.

Windows Hello is fingerprint or face recognition sign in. It's only supported on fairly new devices so let's not complicate things. A PIN is just a 4 digit number you can use, like at an ATM machine, instead of password. Set it up here - Action Center/Accounts/Sign-in options/PIN. But try to solve your MS password problem first, as it is tied to all your computers and even if you use a PIN, write it down somewhere in case you need it to sign in to safe mode, for instance where a PIN is not accepted.

Ok I went to my Manage my account and saw my 3 devices and there was nothing on the page that said there was anything wrong with any of the devices.

Maybe it's true what everybody on google is saying, it was put in by mistake on an update and needs a patch/update to fix it. I look at page after page pf people saying that when I google the message I get. Or maybe they don't know what there talking about after all people on google are not the brightest bulbs. One guy says that then everyone is saying it based on first guy that said it. Isn't that a meme?.

Are you familiar with the Settings app?

Good ! As a doublecheck, go to Settings/Accounts/Email & app accounts. You should see your MS email account there. If there is an 'Attention required' next to it, click it to fix. Otherwise, I would simply set up a PIN as a backup and use it for a couple days and see if the message re-appears. PS; if you have a Microsoft store in a mall near you, bring the laptop in with the message and they'll troubleshoot on the spot for free. Good Luck
