Windows 10: everytime I open a folders I get a slow loading green bar

Everytime I open folders I get a slow loading green bar and can't work on anything until it stops. Is it a setting that I can deal with? I didn't get this when I had huge numbers of folders in W7op system. Anyone assist pls? thks

I have accumulated thousands of .jpg pictures into a single folder. Whenever I try to sort or perform any task on the folder, the green bar slows the process to a crawl. I have a fast hard drive, and a Core i7 8th Gen processor. Is there any way I can
turn off the green bar of slowness? I have Windows 10. and a Lenovo 920 laptop. Many thanks!

Since the folder contains many files, many cached items are slowing down the process you are performing within the folder. For us to provide an accurate solution, we would need you to answer the following questions:

• Which build and edition of Windows 10 is installed on your device?
• Have you made any changes to your computer before this issue happened?
  
• Is the folder saved locally on your computer or is it saved on an external storage?
• Are you experiencing the same issue will all of the large folders or is the issue isolated to a specific folder?

It will also help us isolate the issue if you could provide a screenshot of the green bar. Before posting a screenshot, make sure that there are no personal information included on it.

  When you say “I am getting a green bar across the top of all my windows”, are you referring to the loading green progress bar?

  What is the make and model of your system?

Step 1: Delete Cache and Cookie from Internet Explorer.

  Press Windows key + R key, type
  inetcpl.cpl and press Enter key.

  Click on Delete.

  Check the first four options and click on
  Delete option.
  

Step 2: Run Internet Explorer Performance troubleshooter.

  Type Troubleshooting in the search bar and select
  Troubleshooting.
  
• 
  Click on View all in the left panel.

  Find and click on Internet Explorer Performance.
  
• 
  Follow the on-screen instructions.
