Windows 10: Everytime Windows updates to the newest update (April/Fall Creators) it screws up my audio.

Everytime I let Windows Update do its thing the audio breaks. The audio levels keep going up and down automatically! The Windows volume slider does not change while this happens. What I mean is, in games for example, the music volume gets really low while the sound effects get really loud. YES, at the same time. And NO, it's not the game settings, it happens to all games. This issue happens to anything that plays audio.


Solutions I've tried so far:

  Going to Windows "Sounds" and disabling "sound effects"
  
  
• 
  Enabling/Disabling "Loudiness Equalization"
  
  
• 
  Going to Communications and selecting "Do nothing"
  
  
• 
  Going to Device Manager and manually/automatically installing the audio driver
  
  
• 
  Reinstalling the audio driver, multiple times and multiple drivers
  
  
• 
  Letting Windows Update download and install the driver
  
  
• 
  Restarting the computer after the installations (also multiple times)
  
  
• 
  Disabling "Loudiness Equalization" in the Realtek Audio Manager settings
  
  
• 
  Uninstalling Skype
  
  
• 
  Disabling the microphone even though I don't even have one
  
  
• 
  It's not virus
  

The only "solution" that works is going back to a previous verson of Windows, which I did. However, I know windows will force me to update the system again, so I'm stuck in a loop.


I have Windows 10 Pro, and the current working version (I rolled back to) is version 1703.

Disk bloat in Windows 10 Fall Creators Update

Is it my imagination, or does the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update consume an additional 20-30GB of disk space over the previous Creators Update release? Unfortunately, I didn't log my disk usage before the upgrade, but now my C: drive has 56GB of stuff, and I know it wasn't anywhere near that full before. I've run "Disk Cleanup -> Clean up system files" and selected everything on the list, including remove previous version of Windows. I also emptied my Recycle Bin, my Temp folder, \Windows\Temp folder, and \Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download folder. Finally, I ran Wise Disk Cleaner to delete assorted application garbage.

Has anyone else noticed the bloat in Fall Creators Update?

Oh dear they're still pushing that. I STILL don't like the metro tiles and stuff!

Its well documented all over the net that the new update leaves around 30GB. They all suggest to do what youve done. If you dont like it, back everything up, download the creators update and stick it on a flash drive and reformat the computer. Problem should be solved.

If you dont want to do that, well then I guess you're screwed.
