    EvtSys service doesn't run at Windows 10 startup


    I have a laptop Lenovo L340 with preinstalled Windows 10 Home. I'd like to send logs from this laptop to syslog server on another Linux machine. I'd like to use "Event to Syslog" utility for this task. After installing Event to Syslog as a service I checked that EvtSys service startup type is set to automatic, then tried to restart the system, but the service didn't run automatically.


    EventViewer shows an error ID 7009:

    A timeout was reached 45000 milliseconds while waiting for the EvtSys service to connect


    Additionally, I tried to increase time for service response by creating new DWORD parameterServicesPipeTimeout in registry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control with a several values e.g. 60000, 100000, 200000, 900000, but every time I restart the laptop I got the same error in eventviewer with ID 7009:

    A timeout was reached 60000 milliseconds while waiting for the EvtSys service to connect
    A timeout was reached 100000 milliseconds while waiting for the EvtSys service to connect
    and so on.

    Also I used ProcMon with Enable Boot Log option and it showed me that evtsys.exe creating a new process and several threads, read registry and some files, but after all that its threads and its process just exited.

    When I changed the service startup type from Automatic to Automatic delay start it started on Windows startup.


    The question is: What does prevent the EvtSys service from starting on Windows startup with Automatic startup type?

    thanks for response. I tried your steps with a Google DNS and Open DNS - but it doesn´t help.

    The game still crashes in the moment I try to run it.

    I'll be glad for another solutions.

    I`m sorry I had not noticed that the text on the picture was in spanish. It says that windows has replaced some damaged clusters in "name" file and "directory". Then, at the end "an unspecified error occurred (75736e6a726e6c2e 4f6)".

    I`ll do it and I`ll be updating this thread when I have the report.
