1. No Sharepoint - How do I use SkyDrive to read an Excel document into HD7?

Thanks agin. I have read the related post you linked to and will consider your advice. One thing though. Assuming I can find a way of effectively accessing the required files, I presume I will still have to reformat my Excel worksheets without protection/encryption
    etc.?

The options I am considering are:-

    • Sync the files requiring access off the NAS onto a pc which will then be accessed by the WP7 via HomePipe..
    • Subscribe to a SharePoint host.
    • Try one of the other providers suggested in place of SkyDrive.
    • Carry a netbook.
In the case of all the above other than option 4, I will be reformating the requird Excel files.

    Thanks

    Simon

  2. After uninstalling Windows 10 and reverting to Windows 7, I found that I discovered that all the files in "My Documents" including subfolders were set to "Read Only".

After uninstalling Windows 10 and reverting to Windows 7, I found that all the files in "My Documents" including subfolders were set to "Read Only". I couldn't update any files in Word, Excel
    or Access.

I tried to change the file access setting at the My Documents level and at the subfolder level, and the process went through the motions, but the problem remained.

So I created a new folder under "My Documents" and copied my files to it. I can now update my Access data base from this new folder and read and write Word and Excel documents.

I have put in place this work around, but I would like to know how to fix it properly.

    So my current thoughts are:

    1. that somewhere along the track the Windows 10 update set my data files to read only and didn't change the setting back.

    OR

    2. My user ID was redefined and even though I am still an Administrator, I can't alter what the other administrator did.

    OR

    3. The registry has a problem.

Am I on the right track? Any suggestions on how to fix?
