Windows 10: Excel Document Crashing dwm.exe

One of our user's machines keeps crashing display drivers when opening certain excel documents. Investigating the incidents in event viewer has reviled a crash of dwm.exe. The user is using a thunderbolt docking station and the device is running integrated intel graphics. When the crash happens all the monitors flicker the go black periodically before the applications open only on the laptop screen. Unable to print Excel documents on Windows 10.

From the above description, I understand you are unable to print Excel documents on the computer running Windows 10.



Before assisting further, I would like to ask you few questions:

• Did you check if you are able to print other system documents or webpages using the printer?
• Did you check if the printer is visible under Devices and Printers?

You will be able to print documents and web pages from the Printer if the device is online or showing working status under
Devices and Printers.



If haven’t tried, I suggest you to check if you are able to print documents other than Excel documents or webpages using the printer.



Also check if the printer is listed under Devices and Printers
by following the steps below:

• Press Windows logo key on the keyboard, type Devices and Drivers and select the top most search result.
• Under Printers, check if the printer you are trying to print from is listed.
• If yes, print a test Excel document and check if the device works.

disabling dwm access denied

I don't know if it is even possible to disable DWM and still have Windows working normally but I found a list of solutions that can solve problems related to DWM:

Word and Excel 2013 now crash when I try to print or edit-Outlook OK

Trying to print or edit in Office 2013 Word and Excel now causes the program to crash. Outlook works fine.

the following have not fixed the problem.

1. Repair install of Office 2013
2. Uninstall (with Revo Pro) and then full re-install
3. Uninstall and then reinstall of the HP Laserjet printer drive.

What is my next step, short of nuking the entire Win installation and starting over (ugh!)???
