Windows 10: Excel.EXE 0xc0000142 error

Hi, I have this error when tried to open up excel tonight. I was working on this yesterday all day, it seemed fine. I didn't download anything in between, don't know what happened.



I have Lenovo, Window 10 Home.

when I try to open work, excel or outlook this error comes up 0xc0000142 can you help

please help as I cannot open up any microsoft applications eg.word, excel, onenote.

Error (0xc0000142).

I saw in the ms community chat the following instructions below BUT I do not see "Intel Driver Update Utility" in my Window10 Lenovo laptop to uninstall. I tried to uninstalled intel graphics
and intel PROset/WirelessSoftware but it still does not work.

Please advise what should i do?

Recommended Steps I saw in microsoft community:

• Go to Control Panel (accessible by right clicking your Start Menu button if you are not on the Creators Update, if you are, type Control Panel into Cortana Search)
• Open Programs and Features.
• Look for Intel Driver Update Utility, if you find it, uninstall it
• Reboot

 

cmd.exe 0xc0000142 error after windows creator update

Problem solved by Windows update!

On July 12, Windows automatically installed 4 updates:

• KB 4025376 (Adobe Player)
• KB 3213624 (Office)
• KB 3191907 (Excel) and
• KB 4025324 (Cumulative update)

I guess the last one solved the re-appearing of 'cmd.exe 0xc0000142' error as I didn't get that dreaded mention again!
