Windows 10: Excel file shows on every desktop

Discus and support Excel file shows on every desktop in Microsoft Office and 365 to solve the problem; No other program does this, but if I have an Excel 2003 document open, it will show on every virtual desktop (usually).     Excel file shows on every desktop


    No other program does this, but if I have an Excel 2003 document open, it will show on every virtual desktop (usually). This is especially odd since the window is showing and can be used, but there is not icon for it on the taskbar (unless you are on the "correct" desktop for it).

    Any ideas what this is all about. Obviously some sort of bug/issue.

    How to stop Excel workbook opening in Edge browser

    This does not address the problem - please see my original post.

    I am NOT trying to open a file from OneDrive in Edge but from search results from my desktop search box. Right clicking an Excel file showing in the search box does not give me the option to open in Excel or Excel online as you show.
