I received a ticket from a single user who was receiving a security warning when opening an xlsx file on one of our SharePoint libraries. I added our SharePoint site to trusted locations in the domain group policy, which fixed the warning for files in that library. Now Excel started showing this warning for xlsx files in our network drive W:\ when it hadn't previously. I performed the same steps and added this network drive to trusted locations in the domain group policy and confirmed the user's PC did grab the new policy, but this time the warning persists.Looking at other posts about this

Shortcuts to Sharepoint produce security warning

We have recently started using SharePoint for collaboration between offices. I can open the Sharepoint folder from windows explorer and click on one of our spreadsheets and it opens right up. If I put a shortcut on my desktop to a file on the SharePoint
I get a security warning when I use the link to open the file. Is there a setting in Windows to allow this location as safe so I don't have this warning and extra click every time I open the files?

 

How to disable security warning? Excel 2019

Hi all, when I create a hyperlink in an Excel 2019 cell to a file in my PC (a PDF) and then click on the cell, before the linked PDF opens a security warning displays as shown in the attached screenshot. I tried this method to disable these warnings without success. Any suggestions? Thanks

When I try to open a shortcut pointing to an executable on a Network Storage device (DROBO5N) on my network I get the following message:

How do I disable this warning message. Local shortcuts work fine.
