    Excel 2016 for Mac Arranging Windows

    Hi Danssmith,



    We tested with the latest version 16.19(181109) in our end, the second window didn’t move when we click a cell which has references in its formula. Since we can't repro and you have tried to reinstall but without avail, could you please share the following
    information for us to better address it?

    1. Your OS version and Office version(Excel>About Excel). If you are using previous version, please
      update Office first.
    2. Regarding "click on it to reference a cell", if my above understanding is different, please share your detailed repro steps.
    3. Please create a new workbook to check whether this behavior persists.
    4. Please open your Mac in safe mode and launch Excel to see the outcome.
    5. Did Excel work properly previously? If so, did you make any changes like installing or updating some software?

    Excel 2016 for Mac Arranging Windows

    1. Your OS version and Office version(Excel>About Excel). If you are using previous version, please update Office first. As stated in the post, Excel was actually re-installed over the weekend, Version 16.19 (181109). Office
    is current with no updates available. OS is Mojave 10.12.1.

    2. Regarding "click on it to reference a cell", if my above understanding is different, please share your detailed repro steps.



    1. Open workbook
    2. Open New Window
    3. Arrange Windows vertical
    4. Select a cell in first window
    5. Enter “=”
    6. Click cell in second window to create reference
    7. Second window moves and covers first (same problem in other direction, stating with second window)


    3. Please create a new workbook to check whether this behavior persists. Have tried previous workbooks that did not have this problem, now they have it.

    4. Please open your Mac in safe mode and launch Excel to see the outcome. Same outcome.

    5. Did Excel work properly previously? If so, did you make any changes like installing or updating some software? As stated in post, Excel was re-installed. Excel worked properly at one time, but
    began freezing and crashing. Reinstalled over the weekend per advice of Tier 1 support. No other changes.
