Windows 10: Excel was able to open the file by repairing or removing the unreadable content

Hi,I have an ongoing problem with reopening my Pivot tables spreadsheet - the message reads, Repairs to file xxx Excel was able to open the file by repairing or removing the unreadable. I tried to several troubleshooting with our IT Team, for eg. Add-ins etc. Can you please help me?We are currently running Windows 11 ProExcel options:I have attached image set up.Please check & advise asap.

CSV files used to open in Excel....not now!

Hi, you say Excel is installed. Does it run normally?

You can't find Excel in (an unspecified) list of applications. I don't know which list that is for sure.

For example, in the list related to:
- rt click a file. Open With
- this list:



- this list:




- some other list...

If Excel does not appear in the above, I suggest you repair your office installation.

Maybe the above gives you some ideas. Otherwise please post a screenshot of where you think you should see it but don't. Thanks.

 

[SOLVED] Schedule Tasks not able to open excel file

When I setup a scheduled task within window 7, it works fine and open an excel file, but when I do the same setting under window 10, it can open excel application, but not able to open excel file.

I have double checked on both PC and confirm those scheduled settings are correct.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what wrong setting is?

Hi Dan, does Excel Open with a blank window instead of opening that file?

If so, follow these steps to perform a full repair of your Office installation . . .

Open Control Panel - Programs and Features

Click Microsoft Office in the list of installed applications

At the top, click 'Change'

On the resulting dialog, click 'Repair' - choose the Online Repair, it is a comprehensive fix

That should fix any issues with your Office Installation . . .
